Marguerite A. (Tracy) Deweese

PORTAGE – Marguerite (Tracy) Deweese, age 72, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2017, at St. Clare Hospice House in Baraboo, surrounded by her loving family.
Marguerite was born on February 17, 1945, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Horace and Jeannette (Jameison) Tracy. She married Jacque on January 3, 1970, in Davenport, Iowa. She attended the University of Northern Iowa and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching with a minor in Organ Music. She furthered her education with a Master’s Degree at the UW Madison in Reading.
Marguerite was a devoted mother and wife. She often put the needs of others ahead of her own and invested her time and energies into her children and her students. Marguerite loved children.
Marguerite worked for many years as an elementary and middle school teacher and treasured her students. She loved playing the piano and organ, and singing. She was passionate about reading and teaching children to read. Marguerite was very social and brought people together to build lasting friendships. 
Marguerite was also a devoted Christian. She played for church at an early age and served regularly as an organist and soloist for a number of branch churches of Christ, Scientist. She also wrote a number of religious articles which were published by the Daily Register.
She is survived by her daughters, Laura Veselovsky, Michelle Deweese, Becki Mielke; three grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Jacque Deweese.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, Wisconsin, on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 1:00 pm. Inurnment will be private. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday, June 24, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Home Health United Foundation.
