David E. Davidson PORTAGE – David E. Davidson, 52, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at UW Hospital in Madison, surrounded by his loving family. David was born on December 10, 1964, in Streetsboro, OH, the son of David and Carol (Johnson) Davidson and grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. He married Marie Walther on July 18, 1998, at St. Dennis Catholic Church in Madison. David owned and operated Davidson Marketing and Distinctive Destination Marketing Alliance (DDMA). He was an independent contractor for Dollars and Sense, Bucky Book, and several other companies. David recently promoted Portage Center for the Arts and Zona Gale Young People’s Theatre. His passions were golfing, snowmobiling, watching and attending Badger football and basketball and the Chicago Bears. Wherever he was, he loved to have a good time. David was musical and enjoyed playing piano, singing, and writing his own songs. He treasured spending time with his children, especially attending his daughter’s performances and watching trains go by with his son. He was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portage, the Arlington Prairie Drifters Snowmobile Club, and was previously active in the Madison and Deforest Junior Chambers of Commerce. He is survived by his wife, Marie; children, Anna Marie Louise and Joshua David; mother, Carol (Jim) Johnson of Naperville, IL; step-mother, Lori (Dale) Benoy of Portage; sisters, Laura (Pat DeAngelo) Davidson of Naperville, IL, Kelly (Heslyn) Menadue of Stevens Point; brother, Tim Davidson of Sun Prairie; his step-siblings, Jaimie (Fletcher) Ready of Azle, Texas and Dean (Jeanine) Johnson of Joliet, Illinois; aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, David; grandparents, and his beloved grandmother, Betty Carmody. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for their children’s education.
