Belva J. Auchtung

RIO / PORTAGE --  Belva J. Auchtung, age 84, of Rio, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at At Home Again Assisted Living in Rio.

Belva was born on August 4, 1932, in Wisconsin, the daughter of Floyd and Mildred (Covall) Losey.  She married Herman Auchtung on October 10, 1951.  Belva was a member of the Rio Assembly of God. 

She is survived by her daughters, Shirley (Norman) Doese, of Poynette, and Kathy (Mike) Solterman, of Pardeeville; her grandchildren, Dawn (Tim) Amend, of Pardeeville, Becky (Brad) Doherty, of Poynette, Tim (Jocelyn) Doese, of Mexico, and Robin (Richard) Wirsta, of Madison; eight great-grandchildren, Bailey and Kirstin, Sophia, Mitch, Wyatt,  Estrella, Vega, and Ezra; a foster daughter, Anne (John) Sand, of Colorado; her siblings, Daryl (Linda) Losey, of Roseville, MN, Glenn Losey, of Arizona, Ron (Martha) Losey, of Mexico, Sharlene (Keith) Gjonnes, of DeForest, and Marvin (Sharon) Losey, of Surprise, Arizona; her sisters-in-law, Hildegard Pulsfus, of Sauk City and Irmgard Mays, of Janesville; special nephews, Tim and Cam Auchtung, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herman, her sister, Bonnie Karslake, her brother-in-law, Leonard Auchtung, Jr., and her sisters-in-law, Ruth Paulson, and Mary Losey.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at the Rio Assembly of God, with Pastor Shaun Hardie officiating.  Burial will follow in Bonnet Prairie Lutheran Cemetery in Rio.  Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, any memorials will be used for missions programs.
