Alan D. Ziegler

POYNETTE  --  Alan D. Ziegler, age 69, of Poynette, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at his home.

Alan was born on September 22, 1946 in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Erwin and Arlene (Johnson) Ziegler.  He served his country for four years during the Vietnam War with the U. S. Navy.  Alan had worked for Del Monte in Arlington and Markesan as a boiler operator, and retired from Del Monte after more than 30 years.  He loved his garden and his flowers, as well as the Packers, the Badgers, the Brewers, hunting and fishing.  Alan was a former member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Arlington.

He is survived by his daughters, Karen Ziegler (Jeff McQueen), Oxford, and Debra Lynn Ziegler, Madison;  his mother, Arlene Severson, Windsor;  his grandchildren, Remington Ann Marie McQueen, Sierra Wilson, Quavon Wilson, and Victoria McDuffy;  his great-granddaughter, Samiyah Johnson;  three brothers, Dwight (Bonnie) Ziegler, DeForest, Jeff (Hilda) Hahn, Texas, and Dennis (Mimi) Hahn, Sauk City;  nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.  He was preceded in death by his father.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette, with the Rev. Joan Whitrock officiating.  Inurnment will follow in Bonnet Prairie Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette.
