Ann M. Verburgt

PORTAGE  --  Ann M. Verburgt, age 77, of Portage, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2015 at her home with her family by her side.

Ann was born on July 25, 1937 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin.  She was married on March 5, 1964 to Thomas Verburgt.  She loved gardening, watching and taking care of birds, putting together jigsaw puzzles, reading, and taking long walks.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Verburgt, Sr., Portage;  three children, Peggy Verburgt (Jerry), Portage, Betty (Bruce) Smith, Portage, and Tom (Heather) Verburgt, Jr., Portage;  her grandson, Mitchell, Portage; her sister-in-law, Mabel Cadigan, Portage, and her children, Mae Friederich and family, Marie (John) Stott and family, Jim (Kris) Cadigan and family, and Pat (Brooke) Cadigan and family;  her sister-in-law, Laurel Slepicka, Portage, and her family;  other relatives and many dear friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and her daughter, Tammy in 1987.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, with Chaplain Nancy Davis officiating.  Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
