David A. Olson

 

POYNETTE  --    David A. Olson, age 66, of Poynette, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at his home in Poynette.

David was born on March 9, 1948 in Madison, the son of Harold and Helen (Muzatko) Olson. David was devoted and generous to his family and friends, often providing help, comfort, and food wherever needed.  He was very talented and respected in his industry and had only recently retired.  Since then, he had enjoyed spending time with family, his cats, and working on his lawn creating beautiful flowers.  David was very young-at-heart and his sense of humor will be so missed.           

David is survived by his best friend and beloved life partner, Kris Young, and her family, his mother Helen M. Olson, his son Jefferson D. Olson (Tammy), two granddaughters, MiKayla and Jenna.  He is also survived by his twin sister Dianne Degner (James), of Florida, his sisters Vickie Hillestad (Dean), of Florida, and LuAnn Olson, brothers Dean Olson (Janet), Duane Olson (Kelly), of Idaho, and Dale Olson.  He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and many friends.  David was predeceased by his father, Harold D. Olson, and youngest sister Ellen M. Falk.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Dekorra Lutheran Church in Dekorra Township, with Rev. Ryan Rouse officiating.  Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. in Rocky Run Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette is assisting the family.  

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established by the family.
