Arnold Robert McClyman

 

BRIGGSVILLE  --    Arnold Robert McClyman, age 75, of Briggsville, died peacefully at home with his daughter and his puppy by his side, on Saturday, February 28, 2015.

Arnold was born on Wednesday, July 26, 1939 in New Haven Township, Adams County, Wisconsin, the son of U. Darwin and Nina (Ramsey) McClyman.  He lived most of his life in Briggsville and Portage.  Arnold drove truck most of his life – starting with hauling milk, to working for Meigs, Droste Trucking and retired from Klemm.  He loved farming the fields on his family farm, and most recently teaching his kids and grandkids the ropes.  In 1959, he married Marie Sullivan, and together they had five children;  later divorcing.  He married Delores Shaw on October 16, 1971.  She preceded him in death in November of 2006.  He served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps;  enlisting on August 19, 1956;  was on active duty for six months;  and then in the Reserves for 7 ½ years. 

He is survived by his five children, Eva (Art) Kelly, Briggsville, Duane McClyman, Oshkosh,  Victoria (Tory) Morse, Wisconsin Dells, Andrea Walker, Portage, and Jim McClyman, Briggsville;  sixteen grandchildren;  fifteen great-grandchildren;  his sister, Lillie Nelson, Arkdale;  his aunt, Ruth Crothers, Wisconsin Dells;  his puppy, Bubba Boy;  other near relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Delores, his grandson, James Griener, and his brother-in-law, Clifford Nelson.

A Celebration of Life will be at the American Legion Hall Post #329 in Briggsville on Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.  Military Honors Service will be held at noon on Saturday at the Legion Hall.  Private inurnment will be in Big Spring Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Briggsville Fire Department or the Carl E. Grabman American Legion Post #329, Briggsville.
