Dolores Ann Lynch nee Burk

RACINE --- Dolores Ann Lynch nee Burk, age 85, formerly of Marquette, WI, passed away peacefully at home at 2:20 am on Thursday, October 15, 2015.

She was the daughter of Dennis Stephan Burk and Catherine Lenore (Leahy) Burk. She was united in marriage to Alfred Lynch on November 25, 1950 at St. Mary Church in Kingston. Fourteen children blessed their union. Dolores was active in the communities where she lived. While living in Marquette County from 1951 – 1972 she was a not only a mother to her 13 children, she was a helpmate on the farm, active with St. Andrew’s Church  Altar Society, as well as the Dalton 4th of July festivities. Dolores and Al lived for 21 years in Sharon, WI where they were the owners/operators of the Sharon Farm Supply and she and Al worked both in the planning and executing of the 4th of July activities. While living in Elkin, North Carolina from 1993 – 2008 she was the first Lioness of the Lion’s Club in Elkin, NC preparing and serving food at many ball games. She spent the last years of her life in Racine, WI where she was able to relax and spend her time enjoying her large family.

She is survived by her children, Thomas (Suzanne) of Alabama, Catherine Osborne (Robert) of Oconto Falls, WI, Harry (Eleanor) of Orfordville, WI, Christy Turner (Winfield) of North Carolina, Michael (Christine) of Walworth, WI, JoAnn Bartowitz (Gregg) of Brookfield, WI, Karla Griffin (Gerald) of Hillsboro, WI, Geralynn Kaminski (Timothy) of Kentucky, Rita Eiswald (Kenneth) of North Carolina, Maria Dalziel of Racine, WI, Loretta of Caledonia, WI, Diana Manley of Caledonia, WI and Patrick (Jane) of Greendale, WI; 43 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren. She is further survived by her brothers, Patrick, Dennis (Rosemarie), John (Sharon), Mike (Carol), Bill, and sister, Mary Campion. Numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, out-laws and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portage, WI.    Father Gary Krahenbuhl will preside.  Burial will follow in the St. Andrew’s cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, WI on Monday, October 19, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where the rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m.  Visitation will also be held on Tuesday at the church from noon until the time of the Mass.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alfred, her son Kevin, granddaughters Natasha Dalziel and Anna Griffin, sisters Monica Curtis, Katherine Williams, Agnes Resop, and her brother Terry.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Zachariah’s Acres.

She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.
