Madeline M. “Maggie” Dorn

PORTAGE  --  Madeline M. “Maggie” Dorn, age 87, of Portage, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, in the presence of her loving family.

Maggie was born on February 7, 1928 in Dane, Wisconsin, the daughter of Aloysius and Mathilda (Wipperfurth), “Allie” and “Tillie” Clemens.  She was married to Raymond C. Dorn on July 31, 1947 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Dane.  Maggie was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Portage and the Catholic Women’s Club.  She was a member and had served as president of the Women’s Civic League of Portage. Maggie was a member of the Portage Country Club and the Portage Boat Club, and enjoyed being a member of the Bridge Club. She enjoyed great summers on Swan Lake and winters in Florida. Maggie will be remembered for her great sense of humor, her beautiful smile, and her loving kisses.

She is survived by her husband, Ray;  her children, Dennis (Maribeth) Dorn, Portage, Ron (Debbie) Dorn, Portage, Doreen (Vic) Herbert, Pardeeville, Michelle (Kevin) Olson, Pardeeville, and Sharon (Doug) Malinski, Green Bay;  her grandchildren, Ryan and Kimberly Dorn, Christopher, Kyle and Bryant Herbert, Nathan (Elizabeth) Olson, Erica (Cody) Peetz, Kate Olson, Raelle (Keith) Wick, and Scott Gundersen;  her great-grandchildren, Nahdia and Estella Herbert, Bailee Kath, and Natalie and Lucas Olson;  her brother, Donald (Ginny) Clemens, Middleton;  her sisters-in-law, Lucille Clemens, Dane, Gloria Clemens, Lodi, and Betty Ripp, Waunakee;  her brother-in-law, Hank Dorn, Waunakee;  other near relatives and many dear friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Eleanor Nieson, her brothers, Roger Clemens and Floyd Clemens, and her brothers-in-law, Pete Ripp and Father Rupert Dorn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 307 W. Cook St., Portage, with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl presiding.  Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2015 at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, and on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic School Endowment Fund.
