Dennis D. Dahnke

PORTAGE  --  Dennis D. Dahnke, age 70, of Portage, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the Wm. S. Middleton Veterans Hospital in Madison.

Dennis was born on February 13, 1945 in Wisconsin, the son of Walter F. and Esther M. Dahnke.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. After the military he worked hard at several career fields throughout Kansas and Wisconsin.  He was quick to share a smile and his wit with anyone he met.  For many years he enjoyed bowling, his Marlboro Reds, and supporting Budweiser, but he always enjoyed remembering the good times he had with family and friends. 

Dennis is survived by his brother, Frederick W. Dahnke;  two sisters-in-law, Carole and Janice Zins; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Esther Dahnke; half-sister Edith (Tammi) Dahnke; half-brothers Orlo, Anton, Eugene and Richard Zins; half-sisters Dorothy (Hubred) and Myra (Specht) Zins.

Memorial services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday June 6, 2015 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette, with Chaplain O’Boyle officiating.  Inurnment will follow in Hillside Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015 from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
