Margaret Louise Hill

PORTAGE – Margaret Louise Hill, age 79, of Portage passed away peacefully on January 18, 2013 at Tivoli Nursing Home in Portage.

She was born on May 9, 1933 in Portage to John and Esther Owen of Caledonia Township.  After graduating from Portage High School in 1951, she married the love of her life, Hubert Hill on June 23, 1951 at Portage United Methodist Church.  Margaret enjoyed baking, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.  She was a devoted wife to her husband and together they found success in various business ventures in the Portage area.

She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Hubert Hill; children Barbara (Duane) Dunsmore, Castle Pines, CO, Patricia Minarich, Venice, FL, Howard (Jennifer) Hill, Portage, and Karen Hill, Portage; seven grandchildren, Dryden and Cole Dunsmore, Sarah Dunley, Jennifer Pike, Julia Minarich, Kristen and Allison Hill; two great-grandchildren, Blake and Cole Dunley; mother Esther Owen; siblings Martha Abney, David Owen, Jean Kabele, and Helen Paske.

Margaret was preceded in death by her father John Owen and her sister Mary Dawson.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at Portage United Methodist Church.  The visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, with the funeral to follow.  Private family graveside services will be held immediately after the service.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.
