Judith A. “Judy” Tierney

PORTAGE  --  Judith A. “Judy” Tierney, beloved wife and mother, age 81, of Saddle Ridge, was called to the Lord unexpectedly on Friday, September 20, 2013 at University Hospital in Madison.

Judy was born on November 14, 1931 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Henry and Grace (Keef) Felton. She married Edward “Ned” Tierney on May 24, 1952 at Paris Island, in Beaufort, South Carolina. He preceded her in death on August 11, 2008. Judy loved to read, was an avid baseball fan, and enjoyed playing Euchre, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Susan (Dayton) McKay, Milwaukee, John (Laurie) Tierney, Waukesha, and James T. Tierney, Portage; grandchildren, John Jr. and Anne Tierney and Danielle, Nicole and Jaclyn Tierney; her sister, Mary (Paul) Farley, Cedarburg; brother- and sister-in-law, William (Shirley) Tierney, Portage;  other near  relatives and many close friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother- and sister-in-law, Robert and Sally Stanek, and nieces, Ramona Stanek and Cindy Tierney.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Portage, with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl presiding.  Entombment will be at 2:30 p.m., on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield.  Visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, and on Thursday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.  A Scripture Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
