POYNETTE  --  Sean  “The Champ” Patrick Noble, age 50, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at home.

Sean was born on April 8, 1963, in Portage, the son of William G. and Anita L. (Lange) Noble.  Sean worked at Northwoods.  He was a lifetime participant in Special Olympics.  He was involved with track and field and had been a state champ in bowling.  He was active in the Columbia County A.R.C.  Sean had been the poster child for Easter Seals in the late ‘70’s.  He was an avid sports fan in general, starting with the Portage Warriors, and then becoming involved with Wisconsin sports, in football and hockey.  He was a hockey season ticket holder for many years.  Sean had met many of the coaches and players.  Sean was an avid Packer fan, never missing a game.  He listened to every Brewer’s game through radio, television, and his computer.  He attended many Brewer games, and occasionally the Madison Mallards.  Sean was an enthusiastic NASCAR fan, with Jimmy Johnson being his favorite driver.

Sean is survived by his sisters and brother, Sue (Jim) Mossholder, Langhorne, PA, Les (Kelly Kauffman) Noble, Verona, and Melissa Noble, Verona; his nephew, Theran “TJ’er” Mossholder, Yardley, PA; his aunts and uncle, Bud and Jo Lange, Wausau, Catherine Papas, Canton, OH, and Gerry Noble, Springfield, OH; cousins, other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, and 2 uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, with Rev. Dick Inglett officiating.  Inurnment will be held at a later date in Oak Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Special Olympics, or the A.R.C. of Columbia County.

The Noble family wants to acknowledge and express their extreme gratitude to Sean’s Northwoods family, and all those who have cared for him at R.E.M. of Wisconsin.

We all take comfort in knowing that for the first time in Sean’s life, he can run and play and no longer needs 4 wheels to do so.
