Shirley D. Krueger

PORTAGE  --  Shirley D. Krueger, age 89, of Portage, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at her home in Portage.

Shirley was born on August 24, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Dora Diamond.  She married Norman Krueger on October 25, 1947.  He preceded her in death on April 3, 2000.  She was a member of Portage United Methodist Church.  Shirley loved to read, and walked all the time.  She enjoyed spending time with kids, and she babysat for many around Portage.

Shirley is survived by her children, Larry (Ruth) Krueger, Portage, Scott Krueger, Douglasville, GA, and Paul (Mary) Krueger, Milwaukee; three grandchildren, Kristina, Benjamin and Jacob Krueger, all of Milwaukee;  her brothers and sister, Al (Gloria) Diamond, Gene “Blacky” Diamond, and Anita Rothas;  her sisters-in-law, Doris Paske and Betty Prucha;  many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Norman.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, with the Rev. Tom Countryman officiating.  Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage.
