Lawrence H. Jahn

POYNETTE  /  WYOCENA  --  Lawrence H. Jahn, age 91, of Poynette, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013 at the Columbia Healthcare Center in Wyocena.

Lawrence was born on April 6, 1922 in Baraboo, Wisconsin, the son of William F. and Anna B. (Paske) Jahn.  He was married on June 2nd, 1951 to Adeline Priem.  Lawrence farmed for over 55 years.  He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Leeds.  Lawrence enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Schlender team, and he enjoyed watching Brewer games.  He especially enjoyed his rides around the block doing his neighborhood watch and visiting.  He loved visits from his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  In his younger years, Lawrence was known as one of the “Pine Hollow Outlaws”, who loved to pull pranks on his friends and neighbors.

He is survived by his wife, Adeline;  his daughters, Karen Adkison, Sharon (John) Stevenson, and Myrna Van Deursen;  four grandchildren, Stacy (Jeff) Riechers, Johnny (Kim) Stevenson, Amber (John) Bryan, and Dustin Van Deursen;  eight great-grandchildren, Brianna, Elizabeth, Adeline, Henry, Dylan, Ava, Payton, and Lexi;  many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ervin, his sister, Helen Lerch and husband, Robert, and his great-grandson, Bentley Van Deursen.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Leeds, with the Rev. Scott Schwertfeger officiating.  Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2013 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette, and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

A huge thank you to the staff of the Columbia Health Care Center for their awesome care during Dad’s years as a resident.  It was greatly appreciated.
