Constance M. “Connie” Evans

 

BRIGGSVILLE  --  Constance M. “Connie” Evans, age 52, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at her home in the Township of Douglas.

Connie was born on September 13, 1960, in Madison, the daughter of Thomas and Nellie M. (Kalbach) Joyce.  She graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School in 1978.  She married Russell Evans on May 22, 1982 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Briggsville.  Connie had worked at the Pheasant Inn, Kimball’s Store, Culvers in Portage, Saint-Gobain, and was currently employed at Walmart in Portage.  She loved to play softball, horseshoes and loved the Packers.  

Connie is survived by her husband, Russell Evans, Briggsville; her children, Justin (Trisha Wisecup) Evans, and their son Jasper, Wyocena, and Matthew Evans, Briggsville; her mother, Nellie Joyce, Portage; her sisters and brothers, Karla (Richard) Novander, Oxford, Tom (Janice) Joyce, Baraboo, Mark Joyce, Portage, and Kim (special friend, Steve) Drost, Portage, her mother-in-law, Catherine Evans, Briggsville, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, other relatives and many close friends.  Connie was preceded in death by her father, Tom Joyce, and her father-in-law, Chet Evans

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Briggsville, with Fr. Jim Murphy presiding.  Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Briggsville.  Visitation will be held on Monday, June 3, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Scripture service held at 3:45, at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage.  Visitation will also be held on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

She laughed, she loved, she will live forever in our hearts.
