Grant J. Corcoran

WISCONSIN DELLS / MADISON  –  Grant J. Corcoran, age 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2013, preceded in death by his beloved wife of 70 years, Addie, his parents, his sister, Verna and his brother, Dean.

Grant was born on October 25, 1919, in Madison, the son of Joseph and Tillie (Vendin) Corcoran.  He served proudly as a gunners mate in the U.S. Navy in WWII.  He later worked for Borden Dairy and Gardner Bakery.  He was a remarkably kind, gentle, loving man, who will be missed by everyone who has ever had the honor to share time with him. 

Grant is survived by his son, Michael (Kay) Corcoran, Venice, FL; his daughter, Connie Corcoran, Briggsville;  his brother, Ken Corcoran, Oshkosh; his sister, Donna Jean Crotty, Oregon; his grandchildren, Todd (Cori) Corcoran, Eden Prairie, MN, and Kelly (Rob) Cummins, Edina, MN;  his great-grandchildren, Hailey and Ben Corcoran, and Tate, Owen and Liam Cummins, nieces, nephews, many other relatives and dear friends. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Briggsville, with Fr. Ray Dischler presiding.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery Chapel, Madison where the Briggsville American Legion and Middleton VFW will conduct Military graveside honors.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.

The family suggests donations may be made to Golden Living in Wisconsin Dells, or a charity of your choice.
