Clara A. Vanderhoef

PORTAGE – Clara A. Vanderhoef, age 80, died on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Divine Savior Healthcare Hospital in Portage.

Clara was born on February 26, 1932 in Portage the daughter of Roy and Ula Zole (Nichols) Blystone. She married James Vanderhoef, Sr. on October 7, 1950. He preceded her in death on April 9, 2000. Clara was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Portage.

Clara is survived by her children: Sally (Gerard) Graff,  Eagan, MN and their son, Nick;  Mary Lou Vanderhoef,  Mound, MN and her children, Brenna and Adrien;  James (Pearl) Vanderhoef, Jr., Hub City and their children, Michael James, Tony (Vickie), Ricky, and Mike (Karen); Steve (Sherry) Vanderhoef, Portage, and their children, Jamie Lee, Sara, Matthew, Isaiha, and Tina;  Stan’s children: Katrina, Troy, Kyle, Jasmine; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild;  brothers, Arthur (Sue) Blystone, Stanford, NC, Donald (Melinda) Blystone, Las Cruces, NM;  sisters, Ethel Blystone, Portage, Doris Heinreich, Las Vegas, NV, Bernice (Bob) Hartwig, Middleton;  nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Vanderhoef, her parents, her son, Stanley Vanderhoef, her brothers, Roy, Edward, Riley, Bernard, Carl, and Gordon Blystone, and her sister, Irma.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, with Sherry Benson conducting services. Inurnment will be private. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the donor’s choice.
