Barbara M. Schultz

PARDEEVILLE –  Barbara M. Schultz, 61, of Pardeeville, passed away peacefully Monday July 2, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer, at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, with her loving family by her side.

Barbara was born on January 3, 1951 in Lawton, Oklahoma, where she grew up and attended school.  She was always up for adventure. When Barb was young, she and her siblings had cactus fights, were chased by goats, and played with scorpions and tarantulas.

In 1961, Barbara moved from Oklahoma to Michigan. Barbara was a dedicated hard worker.  She was employed as a nurse's aide at an extended care facility in Cheboygan, Michigan. She moved to Wisconsin in 1975 where she worked at Metals, Johnson Control, and JB Lewis in Watertown. She also babysat and worked at Kmart, and retired her hard working hands at Rayovac after 18 years, in Portage. On July 5, 1980 she married the love of her life, Wayne Schultz. Barbara, Wayne and family remodeled their Pardeeville family home in the country, where the door was always open and the house filled with love.
Barbara enjoyed vacationing, crocheting, crafting, bird watching, gardening, nature, and visiting with family and friends.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Schultz; her parents Geraldine Kolatski (George) of Cheboygan, Michigan; her sons Mike Schultz of Watertown, Daryel Fisher (Linda) of Fall River, and Jason Schultz (Sabrina) of Portage; her daughters Debbie Schultz of Watertown, Brenda Fraser (Mike) of Watertown, Barbara Linn Fisher of Pardeeville, Dawn Gartski (Rob) of Watertown, and Michele Marie Fisher of Kenosha; her siblings, Doris Marie Beeney (Willy) of Clyman, Diana Kaye Hulbert (David) of Cheboygan, Michigan, Theodore Durant (Lisa) of Watertown, Danny Durant (Colleen) of Mackinaw City, Michigan, and Becky Jenne of Watertown; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunt and uncles, cousins, many, many dear friends and co-workers. Barbara was preceded in death by her brother Robert Durant, niece and nephew Wendi and Bruce Hulbert, great niece Victoria Morse, and brother-in-law Jim Severson.

Memorial services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2012 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, with Ted Durant officiating.  Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage.  Inurnment will be in Grove Prairie Cemetery, Town of Lowell, at a later date.
