Lela M. Oren

ENDEAVOR – Lela M. Oren, age 87, of Endeavor, passed away on Thursday morning, November 15, 2012 at Divine Savior Health Care Hospital.

Lela was born on May 11, 1925 in Gratiot, Wisconsin, the daughter of Lester and Retha (Robertson) Klein.  She was married in Stoughton on October 16, 1942 to Palmer Oren, who preceded her in death in 1987.  Lela had worked at Badger Ordnance and Portage Industries.  She was a resident at Columbia Health Care Center for several years.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Bowers, Endeavor;  her son, Scott (Jean) Oren, Portage;  her daughter-in-law, Ra Anne Oren;  her grandchildren, Kelly (Pete) Trimble, Keri (Gary) Thome, Stephanie (Steve) Genrich, Angie Gratz, Shane Oren, Joey Oren, and Josh Oren;  her great grandchildren, Ashley  Aaberg (Buddy), Stevie LaPoint, Dakota Aaberg, Collin Alexander, Coty Alexander, Cole Alexander, Bailey Gratz, and Bradley Gratz;  her great great grandson, Logan Sweeney;  her sister, Donna Hoff, Stoughton;  a special niece, Jan Gibbs, Janesville;  many nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Palmer, her son, Lanny Oren, Sr., her grandson, Lanny Oren, Jr., her great granddaughters, Kay Lee Ann Trimble and Dezarie Gratz, two sisters, Alberta Sproul and Verbia Houston, and her brother-in-law, Carl Hoff.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Moundville United Methodist Church, with Rev. Julie Wilson officiating.  Inurnment will follow in Moundville Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.
