Ronald H. “Hoot”  Hottman

LAKE DELTON – Ronald H. “Hoot”  Hottman, age 76, of Lake Delton, died on Saturday, December 29, 2012, surrounded by his family and friends, at Agrace HospiceCare, in Fitchburg, after a courageous battle with Leukemia.

Ron was born on September 25, 1936, in Madison, the son of Harvey and Vera (Quigley) Hottman.  He served his country in the United States Army. Ron married Margaret Stricker on March 3, 1962.  He worked in the concrete wall business and drove a cement truck.  Ron then owned and operated State Wide Sales for 20 years and Hoot’s Northstar Bar.  He also worked at Ho Chunk Casino as a technician, and most recently, he drove bus for the Baraboo School District.  Ron was an avid sports fan and an accomplished golfer who achieved his 7th hole-in-one this fall, witnessed by Stan Breunig.  He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.  His great sense of humor brought smiles and laughter to all those around him, right up to the very end.

Ron is survived by his wife, Marge Hottman, Lake Delton; his children, Brad Hottman, Lake Delton, and Babette (Ken) Schumann, Pardeeville; his grandchildren, Sonja Kohn, Seymour, and Milon Kohn, Dalton; his sisters, Karen (Ed) Kirk, Ft. Myers, FL, and Kay (Steve) Eatough, Sister Bay; his sister-in-law, Judy Hottman, Deerfield, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and “the gang”, and you know who you are.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Ross.

There will be a light lunch and gathering held at Monks At The Wilderness, 45 Hillman Rd., Wisconsin Dells, on Friday, January 4, 2013 anytime between 4 and 8:00 p.m.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Ron’s name.
