Evelyn L. Gibeaut

TOWNSHIP OF MOUNDVILLE –  Evelyn L. Gibeaut, age 85, died unexpectedly on Friday, September 21, 2012 at home.

Evelyn was born on April 6, 1927 in Beloit, the daughter of Lyle and Laura (Trostum) Eggen.  Evelyn was a very talented and artistic person. She had an exceptional gift for music. She blessed her family, friends and church congregation each time she played the piano or organ. Evelyn was also gifted with the art of sewing. Her family will always be comforted by her homemade embroidered gifts, and especially her handmade quilts. She took great joy in watching “her birds”, lovingly filling her feeders every morning, no matter the weather.
Evelyn was a dedicated member of the Moundville United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her 3 children, Alaine (Gerald) Schmidt, Lone Rock, Arthur (Patricia) Gibeaut, Erie, IL, and Alan (Cheri) Gibeaut, Town of Moundville/Endeavor;  9 grandchildren, Robin, Lisa, Christine, Jeff (Jodie), James (Jennifer), Kimberly (Wayne), Nicole (Chris), Melody and Jennifer (Daryl);  14 great-grandchildren;  3 sisters, Joann Stout, Waukesha, Judy (Ronald) Johnson, Beloit, and Vivian Hendrickson, Beloit; other relatives and many friends.  Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alance, November 10, 1998, grandson, William Schmidt, a sister and 2 brothers, Caroline Shenberger, Clifford Erickson and Charles Erickson.  

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the Moundville United Methodist Church, W5501 Cty Rd O, Endeavor, with Rev. Julie Wilson officiating.  Burial will follow in Moundville Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.  Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Moundville United Methodist Church in Evelyn’s name.
