Judy Marie Cheairs

 

PORTAGE –  Judy Marie Cheairs, age 72, of Portage, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2012, peacefully at her home at Heritage House.

Judy was born on December 26, 1939 in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of Miles and Ethel (Flory) Aurand. She was raised by her foster parents, Hartley and Edna Malone.  On June 8, 1958, she married Gene Miller.  She was married to Robert Cheairs in January of 1971.  Judy enjoyed dining at restaurants and enjoyed crafts, making bouquets of paper flowers, and telling jokes.  She enjoyed wearing silly hats, just to make people laugh.

She is survived by her husband, Robert;  five children and their families, Beth (Jon) Rindfliesch,  Mykeerah (Alfredo) Zarazua, Travair Miller, Drayfus Miller, and Demetrius Miller, Endeavor;  Dawn Miller and her children, Shanetara and Randy, Montello;  Tina (Bud) Schwochert and their children, Tonya, Travis, and Tasha, Sun Prairie;  Gene Miller, Jr. and his children, Dante, Tamara, and Demetrius, Rockford, IL;  and Melanie Cheairs, and her children, Yolanda, Keyesha, Antonio, and Vantonio, Rockford;  her brothers and sisters, Henry, Miles, Pat, Randy and Diane;  many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her foster parents, her first husband, Gene Miller, Sr., and her siblings, Ronald and Joyce.

 A family memorial service will be held, Sunday, at the Endeavor Civic Center, on November 11, 2012, at 1:00.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.
