Elizabeth A “Betty” Bullman

PORTAGE  --  Elizabeth A “Betty” Bullman went to be in the presence of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on March 14, 2011 at Portage, Wisconsin.  She was born physically February 28, 1924 in Marlboro, Massachusetts.  On October 19, 1974 Betty was born again spiritually. She realized that according to the Bible she was a sinner (Romans 3:23), that the penalty for sin meant she was going to hell when she died (Romans 6:23), that God’s Son the Lord Jesus Christ paid the penalty for her sins with His shed blood on the cross (Romans 5:8-9).  Betty repented of her sins and totally trusted and turned to Jesus as her Lord and Saviour who promised to give her eternal life according to His word (I John 5:10-13).  She wanted everyone to know that her favorite verse from her King James Bible was John 3:16 : For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Betty moved to Portage, WI in 2009 from her home in Bangor, Maine to be near family.  She lived at the Phoenix until moving to the Heritage Assisted Living in November 2010.  She enjoyed her time living at both facilities and the people she met.

Betty was predeceased by her husband Jack in July 1985.  Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Skip (Reg) Williams of Portage, her beloved grandson and his wife, Jeff and Debby Williams of Blenheim, New Zealand, a much loved and special granddaughter and her husband, Michele and Brian Wilder of Portage.  Her seven great grandchildren include: Caleb Williams of Martville, NY, Luke, Grace and Beth Williams of Blenheim, New Zealand, Everett and Jessica Wilder of Portage and precious infant Joel Williams who preceded Betty to Heaven in 1994.  Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Martha Vink of Chambersburg, PA.  She was very thankful for her special Portage friends Patti and Linda

Betty was a talented professional seamstress when younger and enjoyed doing handwork, especially her embroidered quilted coverlets and pillows in her retirement.

Although Betty enjoyed flowers, her request was that in lieu of flowers any gifts in her memory be sent to the Mission Fund of Truth Baptist Church, P O Box 422, Portage WI 53901-0422.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 19, 2011 at 10:30 am at Truth Baptist Church; 110 Henry Drive in Portage, WI.  She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Jack at a private grave-side service to be held in the spring at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Augusta, Maine. The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.
