Kenneth L. Branton

POYNETTE – Kenneth L. Branton, age 77, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Caring Hearts Assisted Living in Poynette.

Kenneth was born on January 8, 1934 in Rio, the son of Herbert G. and Myrtle A. (Tomlinson) Branton.  He had four children with his first wife, Lorraine Patchin, and then later was married to Susan Constance. Kenneth served his country in the Army during the Korean War.  He retired from the Columbia County Highway Department after 35 years.  Kenneth enjoyed fishing, woodworking, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, and loved his dog, Norman. Kenneth had a heart that was always open to help anyone. 

He is survived by his children, Jeff Branton, Rio, Kory (Karla) Branton, Columbus, and Penny Branton, Poynette;  his step-children, Robert (Paula) Senkowski, Poynette, Guy (Judy) Senkowski, Poynette, Kim (Toni) Lindholm , Poynette, and Connie (Tim) Labunski ,Wind Lake; his grandchildren, Kayla Jodeen Branton and Kory Lee Branton, II; his sister, Donna (Norman) Kearney, Rio; his nieces and nephews, Brian (Jeanne) Kearney, Dan (Wendy) Kearney, all of Rio, and Pam (Kelly) Coles, Green Bay; his first wife, Lorraine (Jim) Patchin, Rio, other relatives and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Susan Constance, and his son, Tobias Branton.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon, on Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Pacific Cemetery in the Township of Pacific, with Military Honors provided by Portage area veterans.  Chaplain Tom Moe will be officiating.  Friends and family are invited to gather at the Crestwood Inn after the graveside service.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette is assisting the family.
