Beatrice Matte Bennett LODI; OSCODA, MI; DETROIT, MI - Beatrice Bennett, age 96, passed peacefully into the hands of God at sunrise, Friday, May 6th, at the Good Samaritan Center-Lodi. Born in Detroit, MI in 1914, the daughter of the late Edeler and Pearl Matte, Bea spent her entire childhood and married adult life in the family home on LeMay, a dedicated daughter, wife to beloved husband Dick, and mother to daughter Patti. As turbulent times encompassed Detroit, Bea moved to Oscoda, MI in 1969 to care for mother Pearl. She loved a little bet; quarters on the horses with brother-in law Rick at the Caro Fair, Pennies over Poker with Nellie and Gordie, and many years spent organizing the weekly Bingos at the Oscoda Sportsman Club. Bea is survived by her daughter Patricia Lardie and special friend Robert Petersen, son-in -law Robert Lardie, Grandson Bennett Richard Lardie, and many precious nieces, nephews, great nieces , nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews throughout Michigan and beyond. A Celebration of Life will take place in Brown City, MI at a later date. A fund has been established at the Good Samaritan Society in Bea's name, 700 Clark Street, Lodi, WI 53555-1099 to support the wonderful "Activities Committee" in their future needs to enrich the lives of their residents. The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette is assisting the family.
