Lily Hepler

PORTAGE – Lily Hepler, 81, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2010, at her home in Portage. 

Lily was born July 17, 1928 in Honolulu, Hawaii, the daughter of Frank and Laura (Hill) Gonsalves.  She lived most of her life in Pardeeville and Portage, WI.  Lily worked at the Portage Hosiery and Converter Concepts until both businesses closed.  She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, listening to music and mostly spending time with her dogs; Tuffy, Taco, Chauncy, Maui, and Fiona.

Lily is survived by her children, Claude (Michelle) Rankin of Arizona, Crystal (Richard Przybylski) Rankin of West Virginia, Georgette (Jerry) Stratton of Oregon, WI and Mason (Aluxandra) Hepler of Florida; sisters, Jane Monroe, Gloria Rabe, Edith Rinser, Josephine Gonsalves; brothers, Ben Gonsalves, Larry,  Douglas,  Haime and Robert Histo; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Michael Gonsalves and grandson, Cory Kehoe. 

Lily’s memory will live on and she will be greatly missed by her family, long time friend June Eagan, residents at Riverwood Apartments in Portage and her precious dog, Fiona.

A celebration of Lily’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January, 9, 2010, at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, with the Rev. Dick Inglett officiating.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

In Lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s foundation.
