Carol J. Saager

POYNETTE – Carol J. Saager, age 81 of Poynette died on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.

Carol was born on December 26, 1928 in Randolph, the daughter of Everett and Grace (Allen) Hunt. She was married to Reuben Saager on March 19, 1954 in Portage. Carol worked for ABS Global for over forty years. She was a sports enthusiast attending all her children and grandchildren’s games. She also supported her favorite teams, the Atlanta Braves,  Dallas Cowboys,  Minnesota Twins and Vikings. Carol was a longtime member of the Portage Bowling Association and a member of the St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Poynette. She also loved feeding the birds and tending to her flowers.

Carol is survived by her children, Debbie (Charlie) Grisco, Columbia Heights, Minnesota, Steven (Kathy) Saager, Poynette, Thomas Saager, Pardeeville, Susan (Radley) Caldwell, Lodi; six grandchildren, Jenny, Justin, Kay, Kreg, Tyler and Kalli; three great-grandchildren, Javon, McKell and Keaton; sister-in-law, Barbara Hunt; many nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Reuben in 1995, her brothers, William Hunt and David Hunt, sister-in-law, Lavonne Hunt and grandson, Kory Saager.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Poynette with Fr. Jim Murphy presiding.   Burial will be at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Annunciation Catholic Cemetery in Randolph. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette and on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. There will be a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette.
