Frank G. Lapacek

POYNETTE/WAUNAKEE– Frank  G. Lapacek, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at the Ellen and Peter Johnson HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg.

Frank was born on December 2, 1921, in Berwyn, Illinois, the son of Joseph and Mae (Koncel) Lapacek.  He married Kathryn D. Pogatetz on June 17, 1944, in Medford.  Frank worked for 40 years as a truck driver for the Neuendorf Transportation Company.  He loved farming, hunting, fishing and traveling in an Avion trailer.  Frank and Kathryn resided in rural Poynette for 35 years. 

Frank is survived by his loving family, his wife, Kathryn Lapacek; his sons, David (Peggy) Lapacek, Frank (Diane) Lapacek, Bob (Jill) Lapacek, and Denver (Ofelia) Lapacek; his grandchildren, Shaun Lapacek, Kimberly (Lee) Wallander, Kate Lapacek, Jared (Kim) Lapacek, Kassie (Shawn) Hefty, Karma Lapacek, Carly Lapacek, Carlene Lapacek, and Denver Lapacek II; his great-grandchildren, Kamryn, Cedi, Payton, Capri and Brody; a sister Marion (Everett) Faber, other relatives and many friends.  Frank was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Lillian Meyer and a brother, Joseph Lapacek II.    

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 30, 2010, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Poynette with Fr. Raymond Dischler officiating.  Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette, and on Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church.
