William D. “Wild Bill” Kleiman

PORTAGE  -- William D. “Wild Bill” Kleiman, age 60, of Portage, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at St. Clare Hospice House in Baraboo.

William was born on October 27, 1949 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, the son of William J. and Dorothy (Petrick) Kleiman.  He graduated from Kewaunee High School in the Class of ‘69.  He was a current member of the Sauk Prairie HOG Chapter, where he was Road Captain.  Bill had been a past member of the Capitol City HOG Chapter.  He also was a member of ABATE of Wisconsin, and the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Local #107.  Bill enjoyed benefit rides for MDA, The Muscular Dystrophy Association.

He is survived by his daughter, Kristal (Lorin) Staveness, Portage;  two grandchildren, Shaina Schrank and Kyle Schrank;  his aunt, Marie Jergunson, Kewaunee, WI;  his step-daughter, Julie (Don) Cutsforth, Portage;  his step-son, Tony (Elizabeth) Larson, California;  many cousins, other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage.  Inurnment will be private.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.
