Marlene J. Falk

DEKORRA TOWNSHIP  -- Marlene J. Falk, age 73, of Dekorra Township, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 13, 2010 , at Divine Savior Healthcare hospital in Portage, with her husband at her side. 

She was born on December 12, 1936 in Marseilles, Illinois, the daughter of Eugene “Ted” and Helen (Morey) Woodin.  Marlene was married to “Lewie” Falk in Portage on December 9, 1982.  She had worked as office manager for the Shopper Stopper in Merrimac.  Marlene was a member of the Poynette United Methodist Church and its choir, the Zona Gale Singers, sang solo for the Messiah Choir of Poynette, and was a member of the Arlington Curling Club.  She loved to read and crochet.

She is survived by her husband, Lewie;  her children, Jim (Beth) Johnson, Utica, IL,  Pam (Jim) Bell, Triumph, IL, Lorraine (Doug) Buczkowski, LaSalle, IL, Sheila (Mark) Sondgeroth, Malden, IL, Karen (Tom) Alford, Mendota, IL;  three step-children, Jackie (Rocky) Lake, Cambria, WI, Jim Falk, Poynette, and Jeff Falk, Pardeeville;  a step-son-in-law, Tom Venus, Wisconsin Rapids;  a brother, Ernie (Arlene) Woodin, Cooperstown, NY;  a sister, Helen Peek, Marseilles, IL;  a sister-in-law, Evelyn Woodin, Albion, IL;  ten grandchildren;  nine step-grandchildren;  seven great-grandchildren;  other near relatives and many close friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Martin Woodin and Richard Woodin and his wife, Lucille, and a brother-in-law, Bob Peek, and a step-daughter, Julie Venus.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 17, 2010 at Poynette United Methodist Church,  with the Rev. Sharon Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in Inch Cemetery, Highway 51 and County Road B, Dekorra Township.  Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette, and from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the church.
