Mary G. Ashline

 

BRIGGSVILLE/STEVENS POINT  --  Mary G. Ashline, age 86, of Briggsville, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at the Stevens Point Care Center in Stevens Point.

Mary was born on January 11, 1924 in New York, New York, the daughter of Matthew and Virginia (Kelly) Joyce.  She married Dean Ashline on February 14, 1946, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Briggsville, where Mary was a lifelong member, and belonged to the Altar Sodality.  She was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #329, in Briggsville, for 65 years.  

She is survived by her sons, Thomas Ashline (Robert Rausch), Amherst, James (Jeanine) Ashline, Sun Prairie, Dale (Sherri) Ashline, Moreno Valley, CA, David (Sally) Ashline, Moreno Valley, CA, and Daniel (Gina) Ashline, San Antonio, TX; her daughter-in-law, Jeannie Ashline, Richland, MO; her grandchildren, Melissa (Nathan) Novak, Brooke (Geoff) Utphall, Jacqueline Ashline, Ryan Ashline, Brandon (Megan) Ashline, Christopher (Dahlia) Ashline, Andrew Ashline, Sean Parmer and Chad Parmer; her great-grandchildren, Alexis Novak, Nicholas Novak, Brody Utphall, Oliver Ashline, Braxton Ashline and Kevin Ashline, other relatives and many friends.  Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dean, on November 26, 1996, her son John on August 21, 2007, a grandson Scott Ashline, and two sisters, Carmelite Joyce and Margaret Rowe. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Briggsville, with Fr. Jim Murphy presiding.  Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Briggsville. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2010, with a Scripture Service at 5:00 p.m., at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage.  Visitation will also be held on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass at church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The family would like to thank Ministry Hospice, and the staff at Stevens Point Care Center.
