Donald H. Rodell

MONTELLO  -- Donald H. Rodell, age 71, of Montello, died on Friday, February 12, 2010 at Martha’s, in Princeton, after a courageous battle with cancer.  Don will be remembered for his wonderful, dry, sense of humor.

Donald was born in Milwaukee, on October 10, 1938, the son of Elmer and Adeline (Von Bank) Rodell.  He married Patricia Griffin in Milwaukee on April 11, 1970.  Donald served his country in the United States Army. 

Donald is survived by his wife of 40 years, Pat, Montello, his daughters, Stacey (Eden Massaro) Rodell, Washington, and Shelly (Mike Havelka) Wooster, Montello; his brother, Ken (Danke) Rodell, North Carolina, his sister, Barbara Rodell, Milwaukee; his grandchildren, John (Erin) Scherbert, Jamie (Jason Zacharias) Scherbert, and Chris and Alex Wooster; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jan and Bud York, Portage, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Donald was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Brian Wooster, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ev and Ken Griffin, and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jean and John Kerr.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, February 18, 2010, at the Portage United Methodist Church, with Rev. Tom Countryman officiating.  Inurnment will be held in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Briggsville at a later date.  Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services at the church.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.

A memorial fund has been established by the family.
