Kenneth W. McNicol

DEKORRA TOWNSHIP  /  POYNETTE  -- Kenneth W. McNicol, age 81, of the Township of Dekorra, died on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at his home in Poynette. 

Kenneth was born on January 10, 1929 in the Township of Dekorra, the son of William and Vera (Cross) McNicol.  He served his country with the U.S. Air Force from February 7, 1947 until January 4, 1950.  Kenneth was married on August 28, 1954 to Geraldine Knuteson.  She preceded him in death on December 14, 1981.  He worked at Bell Motors in Arlington for 40 years.  Kenneth loved gardening, being outdoors, and his pets.

Kenneth is survived by five children, Susan M. Jackson, Dekorra Township, Randall K. (Rose Anne) McNicol, Dekorra Township, Kevin W. McNicol, Dekorra Township, Jill A. (Walter) Riddle, Stoughton, and Chris A. (Robin) McNicol, Dekorra Township;  seven grandchildren, Noah (Molly) Jackson, Leif, Karli, and Dustin Jackson, Ethan and Hannah McNicol, and Keilley Riddle;  a great-granddaughter, Declynn;  his sister, Delila Knuteson, DeForest;  other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Geraldine, and his adoptive mother, Annabelle Brenneman.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 8, 2010 at Dekorra Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Dr. Dan Odden officiating.  Burial will follow in Dekorra Lutheran Cemetery, with military graveside services provided by Poynette area veterans.  Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Dekorra Lutheran Church, and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
