Ronald K. Babcock PORTAGE -- Ronald K. Babcock, age 76, of Portage, died on Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at Divine Savior Extended Care in Portage, after a severe illness. Ronald was born in Madison, on July 23, 1933, the son of Kenneth and Viola (Kahl) Babcock. He attended school in Madison, where he was voted best dancer, and he was a spectacular dancer! After school he had many jobs, including, Ronald Babcock’s Painting Service, and Babcock’s Accounting and Tax Service, both of which he operated for over 20 years. Ronald was a resident of Waunakee for 20 years. He also lived in Madison, and most recently, Portage. Some of his most loved hobbies included, dancing, and railroads and trains, but most of all, he loved being with his family. Along with his spouse, Tammy, he worked in foster care, taking in many different children, some temporarily, some permanently. Ronald served his country in the United States Navy. Ronald is survived by his sisters, Joan Babcock Cooper, and Caroline Babcock Wuennenberg; his ex-spouse of seventeen years, and caregiver, Tammy M. Pickard Babcock; his step-children, Kristirose Pickard, Ashley Pickard, Joshua Braun, Emiley Braun, and adopted daughter, Shelbylyn Lawlor; his ex-spouse, Marge Babcock; his daughter, Ronna (Dave) Kline, his son, Leonard (Karen) Babcock; and his ex-spouse, Lynn Mueser; his grandchildren, Ashley Kline, Melanie Rose Kline, Kasey and Kenny Babcock, Raef Pickard, Matthew Zimmer, Jr., Nichole, Breanna, and Macy Lawlor, Miley Hynd, and Jacob Schaefer; he is further survived by many amazing friends he’s made throughout the years, including Robert and Darla Schaefer and David and Mary Kittelson. The family extends its apologies to those who are not mentioned. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, with Ronald’s good friend, Darla Schaefer performing the Eulogy. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the services, at the funeral home. Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at 12:00 noon, at Sunset Memory Gardens in Madison. www.pmmfh.com
