Margaret A. “Marge” Weber

PORTAGE  --  Margaret A. “Marge” Weber, age 89, of Portage, died on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Divine Savior Healthcare Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 12, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Portage, with Fr. Jim Murphy presiding.  Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Portage.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the church.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.

Margaret was born on March 7, 1919 in Portage, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Gorman) Weber.  She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Portage, the Catholic Women’s Club, the Columbian Ladies (when the club was active), and was a co-chairman on funeral dinners.  Margaret had a beautiful smile.  She loved to garden, was fond of kittens, loved to play cards, and especially enjoyed her nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.  Margaret was a registered nurse who worked at Divine Savior Hospital and later at the Portage Clinic.

She is survived by her sister, Kate Murphy, Portage;  nine nieces and nephews, many grand nieces and grand nephews;  other relatives and close friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Francis, Edward, and Clifford, and her brother-in-law, Russ Murphy.

Memorials may be given to the St. Mary School and Parish Fund.
