Herbert A. Pulsfus

POYNETTE  -- Herbert A. Pulsfus, age 96, of Poynette passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2009, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson Hospice Care in Fitchburg.

Herbert was born on October 10, 1913, the son of William and Sophie (Falk) Pulsfus.  He married Dorothy Halle on November 4, 1939 in Fond du Lac. In 1960, his family received The All American Family Award.  Herbert was a Standard Oil agent for many years.  He was very involved in Boy Scouts and various community organizations.  He liked to hunt, fish, and enjoyed all sports.  Herbert was a member of Dekorra Lutheran Church, Poynette Masonic Lodge, and the Poynette Curling Club.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy;  his children, Nancy (Gary) Elsing, Poynette, Gary (Maureen Kelly) Pulsfus, Chattanooga, TN;  his grandchildren, Pamela (Mike Kennedy) Elsing, Kristen (Grant) Lindner, Paul (Mary) Elsing, Eric (Contessa) Pulsfus, and Kerry (Gunnar) Wegmann;  great-grandchildren, Sven Wegmann, Leyla Wegmann, Jackson Elsing, Dylan Elsing, Jack Pulsfus, and Samuel Pulsfus;  his brother, Henry Pulsfus, Sun Prairie;  his sisters, Alice Lanzendorf, Lodi, Esther (Bernard) McDonald, Madison, and Madeline Shaw, DeForest.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Rodney, Clarence, Leonard, and Willis, and his sister Adeline Ebner. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 17, 2009, at the Dekorra Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Dan Odden Officiating. Inurnment will be private.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the church from 9:00am until the time of the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests the memorials be given to Hospice Foundation Inc. 5395 East Cheryl Parkway, Madison 53711, and/or Dekorra Lutheran Church, N3099 Smith Road, Poynette, 53955.
