Elizabeth Petzke

PORTAGE  --  Elizabeth Petzke, age 86, of Portage, died on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Portage, with Fr. Jim Murphy presiding.  Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Briggsville.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.

Elizabeth was born on February 12, 1922 in Germany, the daughter of Joe and Maria (Asien) Putzlocher.  She was married to Rudolph Petzke, who preceded her in death in 1970.  Elizabeth was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Portage.  She had worked for many years at Divine Savior Hospital.

She is survived by two sons, Ed (Bonnie) Petzke, Portage and Jim (Carole) Petzke, Portage;  eight grandchildren, Robert Petzke, Donna (Nick) Miller, Christina (Joe) Seipp, Christopher Petzke, Andy (Amanda) Petzke, Sarah (fiancé, Jeremiah Johnson) Petzke, Rick (Susan Shephard) Petzke, and Ron Petzke; four great-grandchildren;  two step-daughters, Florence Paul, Lincoln, Nebraska, and Carla Houghton, Marietta, Georgia;  several step great-great grandchildren;  a brother and a sister in Germany;  other relatives and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters and two brothers.
