Helen Marie Monk

PORTAGE  --  Helen Marie Monk (nee Kindred), age 88, of Portage, entered eternal life on Friday, November 21, 2008.

Private family memorial services will be held.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.

Helen was born in Virginia, Minnesota, and lived in Upper Michigan and the Portage area most of her life. She was the loving mother of the late Gloria Kirking and Nestor Karvonen, and the loving wife of the late Elmer Monk and the late Reino Karvonen.  She is survived by two sons, James (Bonnie) Karvonen, Cudahy, and Joseph (Jeanne) Karvonen, Franksville;  grandchildren and great-grandchildren;  her sister, Mary Ann Beahm, Montello;  her sister-in-law, Betty Kindred, Endeavor;  other near relatives and many friends.

Helen was a resident of Divine Savior Healthcare Extended Care since 1999.  The family thanks the nursing home staff for their tender loving care.
