Roman F. Korney, Jr.

BRIGGSVILLE  -- Roman F. Korney, Jr., age 85, formerly of Chicago, currently of Briggsville, died on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at his home.

Roman was born on June 18, 1924 in Chicago, the son of Roman and Tillie (Donatelli) Korney.  He was married to the former Helen Theologes, who preceded him in death.  Roman was a police officer in Wheeling, Illinois and had worked at Tower Products in Mundelein, Illinois until his retirement.  He served his country with the U.S. Army during World War II.

He is survived by two children, Rebecca Korney, Madison, and Roman Korney, III, Briggsville;  five grandchildren, Rich, Eric and Dan Moriarity, Tanya and Siena Lomastro-Korney;  other near relatives and many close friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Helen, his sister, Jeanne Lucker, and his brother, Billy Korney.

Memorial services will be held and announced in January of 2010.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.  www.pmmfh.com
