Shirley Ann Holmes

PARDEEVILLE  --  Shirley Ann Holmes, age 72, of Pardeeville, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Portage, with the Rev. Dick Inglett officiating.  There will be a private family burial.  Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, and on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Shirley was born on September 9, 1936 in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Arthur and Edna Koepp.  She was married on April 7, 1956 to Robert Holmes.  Shirley will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma.  She was devoted to her two dogs, Pepe and Bogie.  Shirley was a huge fan of NASCAR Racing and her crossword puzzles.  She was a member of Classic Cruizers RV Club.  “Let’s go RVing, Tweet”

She is survived by her husband, Robert of Pardeeville;  her parents, Arthur and Edna Koepp of Pardeeville;  one sister, Betty (Jerry) Schmidt of Pardeeville;  three children, Edward (Karla) Holmes of Dalton, Mark (Jenny) Holmes of Portage, and Lyn (Jeremey) Thomas of Pardeeville;  seven grandchildren, Tim (Vicki) Lamb, Chad, Shawna, and Sarah Holmes, Kendra Agnew, Lisa and Nick Holmes;  nine great-grandchildren;  other relatives and many close friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Pastor Dick Inglett, Dr. Bonebreak, the Divine Savior ICU nurses and aides, the EMT’s and paramedics, and the staff at Southern Care Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Shirley A. Holmes, to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, W8267 Highway 33E, Portage, WI  53901.
