Alice Harvey

PORTAGE  --  After a brief illness, Alice Harvey joined her husband, Bucko, in Heaven on April 28, 2009.  She left this world peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.

A memorial prayer service will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2009 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, with Pastor David Hankins officiating.  A visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage.  Private inurnment will be in Shanks Cemetery. 

Alice was born on May 23, 1930 in Wisconsin, the daughter of Robert and Iris (Lane) Cuff.  She was married on March 2, 1951 to Warren Harvey, at her parents’ home.  Alice was an avid reader, liked to travel with her friends, Candy and Max, and worked crossword puzzles.  Alice looked forward to spending Wednesdays with her good friend, Joyce.  She greatly supported and loved her family, especially her grandkids.

She is survived by her children, Scott (Cindy) Harvey, Portage, Julie Harvey (John Bergan), Portage, Connie (Ed) Lamb, Franklin, Tennessee, and Walt (Deb) Harvey, Portage;  her grandchildren, Alex, Samantha, and Lindsey Harvey, and Colin Lamb;  her step-grandchildren, Gwen (Craig) VanWormer, and Craig (April) Christopherson;  her brother, Bob (Kathy) Cuff, Portage;  and her sister-in-law, Vye Harvey, Hurst, Texas.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews, many dear cousins and many, many friends.  Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Warren “Bucko” Harvey on June 4, 2007, three brothers-in-law, Seldon, Blair, and Wallace, and a sister-in-law, Delores. 

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to St. Clare Hospital, and especially to the doctors, nurses and entire staff of the Medical ICU at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.
