Alice M. Hamele

FARMINGTON HILLS, MICHIGAN/PORTAGE - Alice M. Hamele, of Farmington Hills, Michigan, passed away on May 1, 2009, after a long and courageous battle with doctors. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Portage, with Fr. Jim Murphy presiding.  Burial will follow at Silver Lake Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church on Friday.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Irene (Jones) Hamele, and by her sisters Barbara Kirsh, Doris Downing, and Mary Muetzel Gray.  She is survived by her life partner, Bruce Tobis, of Farmington Hills;  brothers, Alvin, Jr., of Portage, Wisconsin, and John, of Minden, Nevada;  and by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to McArdle Laboratory for Cancer Research, University of Wisconsin, 1400 University Avenue, Madison, WI 53706-1599.
