William J. H. Fredrick

PORTAGE  -- William J. H. Fredrick, age 80, of the Township of Moundville, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo.

William was born on January 31, 1929 in the Township of Moundville, the son of William and Essie (Hume) Fredrick.  He was married on September 30, 1950 to Jean Zink.  He owned and operated Fredrick Plumbing and Electrical, and previously owned and operated Dairy Equipment Sales and Service.  Bill enjoyed his work and working with the public very much.  He enjoyed traveling, gardening, crafts, working in his orchard and farming.  Bill especially enjoyed spending time with his family.  He was a life-long member of Moundville United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Jean;  four children, William C. Fredrick, Lake Delton, Robert D. (Laura Jean) Fredrick, Endeavor, Marilyn J. Fredrick, Endeavor, and Denise A. (Joe) Chapman, Endeavor;  5 grandchildren;  2 special grandchildren, Todd W. (Torry) Fredrick, Endeavor, and Billie Jo (John) Pejskar, Baraboo;  7 great-grandchildren;  his sister, Lida Mae Hampshire, New London;  other near relatives and many close friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Leo Fredrick, a sister, Elinor Lilley, a sister, Leora Beaver, a brother in infancy, and a grandson, Jason Fredrick.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Moundville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Barbara Bolz officiating.  Burial will follow in Moundville Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, and on Thursday at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m.
