E. "Margaret" Ramsay

WISCONSIN DELLS  --  E. "Margaret” Ramsay, age 94, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Wisconsin Dells Health Care Center in Wisconsin Dells.

Margaret was born March 8, 1923, in Caledonia Township, the daughter of Thomas and Agnes (Fleming) Ramsay.  She attended Indian Farm Grade School #3 in Caledonia Township and graduated from Portage High School in 1941.  Margaret was employed by Wisconsin Power and Light Company, and was a union member of IBEW #965 for 50 years.  Margaret was a Charter member of the Portage Elkettes and a member of the Pioneer Club.  She was a Life Member of the Order of Eastern Star of Bethlehem Chapter #100 in Portage, serving as the Grand Representative to Delaware in Wisconsin for the Eastern Star from 1993-1995.  She had been the Secretary for Chapter #100 since 1985. Margaret was also a lifetime member of Caledonia Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her sisters, Billie J. Utesch of Tomah, Elizabeth (Jim) Hitchcock, of Rockville, MD, and Marian McMahon, of Portage.  She is further survived by many near and dear nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Agnes James, Ronald Ramsay, Ellsworth “Tom” Ramsay and Doris Schleicher.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2018, which would have been Margaret’s 95th birthday, at Caledonia Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Jessica Salt officiating.  Burial will follow in Shanks Cemetery in Caledonia Township.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the church.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Caledonia Presbyterian Church.
