Donald J. Crawford

WYOCENA / PARDEEVILLE – Donald J. Crawford, age 87, of Wyocena, formerly of Pardeeville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 3, 2018.

Don was born on September 29, 1930, in Lewiston Township, the son of William and Ella (Manthey) Crawford.  He served in the U.S. Navy from October 20, 1947 until October 19, 1951, during the Korean War.  He married Norma (Fronk) Rott on June 22, 1953.  They had five children, Dennis, JoAnne, Donna, Darwin and Jane.  That marriage was later dissolved.  On July 18, 1970, Don married Joyce (Brickwell) Weyh.  He was a 65 year member of Union Local 159 and worked 40 years as an electrician in IBEW Local 159. Don enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, hunting, and playing cards.  He especially loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce;  son, Dennis (Julie) Crawford, Pardeeville;  daughters, JoAnne (Greg) Hohensee, Albany, Donna (Lyle) Powers, Marshall, and Jane (Ron) Beloungy, Prairie du Sac;  his step-children, Louise (Larry) Annen, Clarkdale, AZ, Marjorie (David) Nelson, Hillsboro, Pam (Ken) Hammond, Viola, Bruce Weyh, Wisconsin Dells, and Patti Dilley, Pardeeville;  12 grandchildren;  24 great-grandchildren;  his sisters, Florence Coleman and his twin, Doris Domstrich;  his sisters-in-law, Larryne Crawford and Carol Nelson;  family friend, Lovice Klemp;  other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Darwin, brothers, Edward, Russell, Kenneth, Elmer and Charles, sisters, Helen Grose, Dorothy Wolfram and Alice Henke, and his son-in-law, John Dilley.  

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, with the Rev. David Hankins officiating. Inurnment will be private at Oak Grove Cemetery, at a later date.  Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage.

The family requests that flowers please be omitted due to allergies.

The family would like to thank the staff for the excellent care they gave to Don while he was at Columbia Healthcare Center.
