James D. "Jim" Wyman

PORTAGE/MAYFLOWER, AR  --  James D. “Jim” Wyman, age 61, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.    

Jim was born on August 7, 1952, in Portage, the son of Russell and Betty (Rohde).  He graduated from Portage High School in 1970.  Jim married Linda Hunt on October 26, 2013 in Arkansas. He had a career in the plastics industry including many years at Penda of Portage, and was currently an extrusion manager at Plastics Ingenuity in Maumelle, Arkansas.  Jim was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing, he was also an avid rock collector. 

He is survived by his wife, Linda, Mayflower, AR; his children, Dana (Adam) Gehrmann, Jefferson, and Chad (Erin Hersh)Wyman, Sun Prairie; his father, Russell Wyman, Portage; his grandchildren, Alissa, Quintin, and Kayla Gehrmann, and James Wyman; his stepsons, Chris (Mandy) Cambron and Bradley Hunt both of Conway, AR; his step-grandchildren, Hunter Cambron, Christina and Carley Hunt; his sisters, Kay (Ed) Wilcox, and Peggy (Scott) Brown, both of Portage; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Wyman, and his grandparents, Harold and Regina Wyman and Reinhold and Millie Rohde. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage with Rev. Tom Countryman officiating.  Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the family.
