Marjorie M. Sauer

PORTAGE  --  Marjorie M. Sauer, age 85, died on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Divine Savior Healthcare Hospital in Portage.

Marjorie was born on August 28, 1929, in Portage, the daughter of Claude and Oria (Wilson) Evans.  She was married on May 28, 1950 in Stevens Point to Carl G. Sauer.  He preceded her in death on September 29, 1997.  Marjorie had worked at the Portage Shoe Factory.  She enjoyed word search puzzles, embroidery, and sewing, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the company of her cats and dog.    

She is survived by her children, James C. Sauer, and Mary K. Grant, both of Portage; her granddaughter, Jolene  (Jason) Morris, and great-grandchildren, Alisa, Autumn, Austin, and Airel Morris, her granddaughter, Candice (Howard) R. Boyle, and great-grandchildren, Howard D., Rayden, and Auraliya Boyle, her granddaughter, Linda (T.J.) Janik, and great-grandchildren, Zen and Kai Janik, her grandson, Adam (Jamie) Broesch, and great-grandchildren, Austin, Kali and Hunter Broesch, and her grandson, Shaun Sauer and great-granddaughter, Jasmine Sauer, nieces, nephews and special friends, Kim and Bill Kelly, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl, her daughter, Sandra Broesch, her brother, James (Alice) Evans and her sister, Frances (Elmer) Langbecker. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2015 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala funeral home in Portage with Chaplain Nancy Davis officiating.  Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Friday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
