Peter Jon Platt

WISCONSIN DELLS/PORTAGE - Peter Jon Platt, age 51 of Portage, was suddenly called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday July 10, 2014 at Select Specialty Hospital in Madison.
Peter was born on March 11, 1963 in Reedsburg, the son of Duane and Donna (Mossholder) Platt.  Pete grew up and lived mainly in Wisconsin Dells until he met his wife Lori Rhutasel.  Pete and Lori entered into a covenant with God on May 1, 2004.  Pete was a journeyman electrician and all around talented man.  Pete always had a smile on his face when anyone saw him.  Above all, Peter was a follower of Jesus Christ.  His passion was to share the love of Jesus with everyone he met and everyone he knew.

Pete's leadership abilities excelled as he grew in faith and knowledge of the Lord.  He treasured the men in his Bible classes and valued their spiritual mentorship.  He was a member of his church choirs and enjoyed singing.  Pete loved riding and rebuilding motorcycles and was an excellent cook.  Pete was an American patriot, a devoted husband and a wonderful inspiration for everyone who knew him. 

Peter will be greatly missed by his wife Lori, his sisters Rebecca (Daryl) Johnson of WI Dells and their children, Erin (Matt) and Micah; Melanie Gibson of Lake Delton and her children, Nick and Nate; Jennifer (Doug) Schultz of Churchville, NY and their children, Malachi, Jaron, Ezra and Destiney; and his brothers Paul Platt and Dan Platt of WI Dells.  Pete is further survived by his sister-in-law, Amy (Kris) Millard and their children Austin, Chance and Shane, all of Pardeeville, and his best little friend, Maggie.  Other survivors include aunts, uncles, cousins and a multitude of close friends.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Jim Gibson and his other best little friend, Max.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday July 19, 2014 at Grace Bible Church in Portage with the Rev. Michael Gormican officiating.  Inurnment will follow at Silver Lake Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday July 18, 2014 at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage and Saturday at 10 am at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials will be honored in Pete's name.
