Gerald W. Olson

PORTAGE  --   Gerald W. Olson, age 83, of Portage, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Tivoli in Portage.

Gerald was born on June 27, 1931 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, the son of Adolph and Francis (Seger) Olson.  He was married to Donna Mae Lawrence on October 12, 1956 in LaCrosse.  Gerald had worked for many years for Wagner Implement of Portage, and later for the Portage Public School System.  He was an active member of Portage United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his children, Terry (Stacey) Olson, Waterloo, WI, and Tracey Shaughnessy, Verona;  two grandchildren, Patrick and Abbey Shaughnessy;  other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Donna Olson on January 16, 2007, and his sister, Marge Wagner.

Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Portage United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Tom Countryman officiating.  Military honors will provided by Portage area veterans at the church.  Inurnment will take place at a later date at Silver Lake Cemetery in Portage.  Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tivoli or the Portage United Methodist Church.
